The representatives from the “Apele Moldovei” Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment of the Republic of Moldova visited the waste facilities. Professionals of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, company's management team and GEF project experts represented Ukraine.
The Dniester River Basin Authority helped to organize the site visits.
The experts' team discovered the state of three TMFs, the Dombrovsky quarry as well as visited the places of karst falls formation. Participants learned about the company history and operation issues of industrial waste facilities.
The Moldovan side concerns about the current state of Oriana-ECO TMFs and the possible threats that such potentially hazardous facilities pose to the transboundary Dniester River.
The current state of TMFs is considered within the GEF project "Enabling Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Dniester River Basin".
