Ecoplatform is a union of
environmental safety experts |
With a deep knowledge of Ukrainian and
international legislation on climate change, Ecoplatform experts are
experienced with conducting the audits (determination, validation,
verification) of international projects on climate change, projets in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation
of the Ukrainian agriculture sector and
technical translation of EU legislation.
National priorities for climate change mitigation and adaptation of the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors of Ukraine
As climate change is one of the main problems for the country in terms of agricultural production, facilitating the development of opportunities for adaptation and resilience to climate impacts is one of the key issues for this sector.
Combining the experience of cooperation with international organizations, the experts work on the task from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in addressing the climate change. In particular, the project applications aimed at implementing Ukrainian national priorities in climate change mitigation and adaptation of the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors, are jointly developed.
International projects of “flexible
mechanisms”
under the Kyoto Protocol (2011-2014)
Determination of Joint Implementation (JI) projects - audit of the project design document (PDD) for compliance with the criteria of the Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCCC and local environmental legislation; confirmation of quantitative estimates for possible GHG emission reductions, in the following sectoral scopes:
- renewable energy sources (photovoltaic solar power plants)
- energy demand (pipe production plants, rehabilitation and modernization of district heating systems, gas transmission companies)
- fugitive emissions from gaseous fuels (gas transmission and gas extraction companies)
- agriculture (application of No-till technology)
Verification of JI projects – verification of project implementation according to the project design document and confirmation of the actual amount of GHG emission reductions in the following sectoral scopes:
- energy demand (gas transmission companies, energy-efficient lighting projects)
- fugitive emissions from gaseous fuels (gas transmission companies)
- metal production (metallurgical plants)
Validation of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
projects - audit of the project design document (PDD)
for compliance with the criteria of the Kyoto Protocol to the UN FCCC and local
environmental legislation; confirmation of quantitative estimates for possible
GHG emission reductions Works of this type were performed in the sectoral
scope “fugitive emissions from gaseous fuels” for two projects on reducing gas
leakages within gas distribution network in the Republic of Moldova and
Transnistria.
Validation of Gold Standard (GS) projects was performed
in energy industries and energy demand sectoral scopes for the project on
improving the efficiency of electricity generation by one power plant of the
Republic of Kazakhstan.
International technical Assessment (audit) of Projects for targeted environmental (green) investments - verification of project implementation according to the project design document in accordance with the Technical Assessment Guidelines, confirmation of the actual amount of GHG emission reductions:
- Large-scale project “Complex modernization of type "E" railcars and its modifications with implementation of asynchronous traction drive at municipal enterprise "Kyiv's Metropoliten” (sectoral scopes: energy saving, transport)
